For some it is pretty depressing to watch the news. You hear of all the turmoil going on in the financial markets, rising unemployment rates, home foreclosure numbers increasing, national or local governments being run in ways that many may disagree with, and so on. I meet so many people that are so upset about issues like these and I say so what! All these things we cannot fix, nor will all the ulcers in the world fix these issues. Instead of worrying about the problems of the world make the best of the situation. There is the saying, “When life gives you lemons make lemonade.” I say to heck with that… When life gives you lemons make lemon slush! In every problem lies an opportunity. The current financial problems have led many families I know of to get away from expensive lifestyles and make some changes to go back to the things that are most important to them - their families, their faith, their relationships with others. I must say that is a pretty good trade. There are many ways to make the best of a bad situation.
I believe
that you can also take lemons and make lemon slush that you can then sell! Don't let the current problems of the world dictate your life. I often hear varying figures about how many millionaires were made during the great depression. When the nation was in a slump those people found a way to be productive and provide a good living for their families. As a kid my brother and I would constantly talk about how we wanted to invent something and make our whole family rich. I remember my dad counseling me that the way to do so is to find a need (aka a problem) and find something to fill that need. I believe this is true. The bigger the need you can fill or problem you can solve, the more potential you have for wealth. Think of it this way… If there were to be someone that could solve our current financial troubles with a snap of his fingers don’t you think he could make a great deal of wealth at that? I certainly do! Our government has already spent trillions of dollars just in failed attempts at fixing our economic problems.
In Short don’t let your troubles big or small set you back – instead go to the grocery store, buy some lemons, some sugar and a bag of ice, make a lemon slush, and think about what you are going to do to manipulate that problem for the benefit of you and your family. Remember, success is finding opportunity in every problem, not in finding problems in every opportunity.
